Lomongo , also Mongo or Mongo-Nkundu (ISO-639-3: lol ), is the Mongo language in the Democratic Republic of the Congo .

The distribution area extends over the south of the former province of Equateur and the northeast of the former province of Bandundu . The language is divided into numerous dialects . With around 400,000 speakers, it is one of the larger languages ​​in the region. The language belongs to the northwestern branch of the Bantu languages , subgroup C. Like most Bantu languages, Lomongo is also a tonal language .
