The Lorenkenturm is one of the preserved towers of the city ​​fortifications in Dülmen . His task was to secure the inlet of the Dülmen city stream called Tiberbach into the city ​​wall . The tower served for a long time as a city ​​prison and at the beginning of the 20th century as a transformer station for supplying the city center with electrical energy . On both sides of the tower itself there is a remnant of the city wall, the origin of its name is unknown.
