Loudoun Castle is a ruined castle near Galston in the Scottish Council Area East Ayrshire .

The oldest part of the palace complex are the four preserved floors of a defense and residential tower built in the 15th or 16th century . Only a short section of the wall has survived from another palace from the 17th century, which was the seat of the Earls of Loudoun . The castle visible today was built 1804-1811 by order of Flora Mure-Campbell, Marchioness of Hastings, according to plans by the architect Archibald Elliot .

On December 1, 1941, the castle was devastated by a fire and has been in ruins ever since. It is still family-owned and is not open to the public for security reasons. Since 1997 it has been listed in the Scottish Heritage Register in Category A, the highest category of protection.
