Ludwika Wawrzyńska
Ludwika Wawrzyńska [ ludˈvʲika vavˈʐɨɲska ] (born April 22, 1908 , † February 18, 1955 ) was a Polish elementary school teacher .
biography
Ludwika Wawrzyńska was a teacher at a primary school in Warsaw . On February 8, 1955, she rescued four children from a burning house. Ten days later, Wawrzyńska died as a result of the severe burns she sustained during the rescue operation.
