Air pressure energy cartridge
An air pressure energy cartridge (also: air energy cartridge , LEP ) describes a cartridge which allows projectiles for air pressure weapons to be fired using special weapons . The handling of the weapons is in principle comparable to a conventional sharp weapon. Only the air pressure cartridges have to be refilled repeatedly with a hand air pump or other compressed air source.
The necessary weapons are specifically available as LEP weapons or as modified live weapons. Both variants were previously freely available from the age of 18 and were marked with an engraved "F" in a pentagon. According to the Gun Rights Amendment Act passed by the German Bundestag on February 22, 2008 , LEP weapons that were converted from formerly sharp weapons can no longer be freely acquired as of April 1, 2008, but like a sharp weapon only on a weapon possession card ; This change in the law also applies to previous ownership, for which a gun ownership card may have to be applied for within six months.
The registration period expired on October 1, 2008. LEP weapons that were formerly live weapons and have not been registered by October 1, 2008 at the latest, are now illegal and may be confiscated (there may also be criminal proceedings against the owner).
