Air cushion track (didactics)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

An air track , also known as an air track , is a laboratory device for demonstrating largely frictionless movement. It consists of a rail over which sliders can move. Using compressed air, an air cushion is built up between the rail and the slider , on which the slider hovers over the rail. With the air cushion track, for example, the laws of classical mechanics can be examined.

A disadvantage of the web is that its construction requires high precision if accurate results are to be obtained. Occasionally, simulations are therefore used for teaching purposes.
