Raron – Eischoll cable car

The Raron – Eischoll (LRE) cable car is a year-round cable car in the canton of Valais , Switzerland .

It has been connecting Eischoll , located on a high plateau, with the Rhone valley near Raron since 1946 and was the first cable car in Upper Valais. It is designed as an aerial tramway and has two cabins with ten seats each. The valley station is in the Turtig district at 645 meters above sea level, the mountain station in Eischoll at 1217 meters above sea level.

The rope length is 1778 meters, with a difference in altitude of 610 meters. The travel time is 8 minutes, the hourly capacity is given as 60 people per direction. It usually runs cyclically according to the timetable at certain times; in the event of a large crowd, it is switched to continuous operation. In the Swiss course book it is listed on the timetable field 2250.
