Eischoll ( Valais German : Eyschol ) is a municipality and a civic community of the district west Raron and a parish of the deanery Raron of the German-speaking part canton of Valais in Switzerland .
geography
The community extends on the southern slope of the Rhone Valley, but the community area does not reach the valley floor, because the Riedbergwald below the village belongs to the Niedergesteln community . The highest point in the municipality is at the Signalhorn summit at 2910.6 meters above sea level. The village of Eischoll itself is located on a terrace at around 1220 meters above sea level.
The neighboring communities are the communities of Unterbäch and Niedergesteln in the Raron district , and the communities of Turtmann-Unterems and Ergisch in the Leuk district .

traffic
The community is not on any major traffic axis. The road connection begins in Turtmann or Visp. It has been connected to the valley floor with the Raron – Eischoll cable car since 1946 ; the valley station is located in the Turtig district of the municipality of Raron near the Raron train station . The mountain station on the northern outskirts. The cable car operates all year round according to the timetable (timetable field 2250).
A chair lift leads from the village to the Stryggea, where the Strygge - Erez ski lift is located and a children's ski lift is operated. The chairlift to the Strygge runs in summer in the months of July and August. All three systems operate in the winter months for winter guests.
In 2015, Eischoll was the first municipality in the entire canton to buy an electric car that anyone (except newcomers) can rent on a daily basis.
Together with the neighboring communities of Unterbäch and Bürchen, the municipality also rents 3 SBB GA day pass general subscription .
Culture and sights
The Catholic parish of Eischoll was established in 1766 when it was separated from the parish of Niedergesteln. The Catholic parish church of the Assumption is in the village and was built in 1886 by Joseph de Kalbermatten. It is a neo-Romanesque church with a front tower and a semicircular choir. The altars are from 1921.
In Brunnbiel there is a baroque chapel dedicated to the holy family. The von Roten family's private chapel is located in Breitmatte. The painting of Our Lady on the altar is by Raphael Ritz and was painted in 1865. The wages include the Chapel of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary, built in 1835.
