Luis Díaz (singer)

Luis Díaz (born October 10, 1942 in Ciego de Ávila ) is a Cuban son singer and composer.

Díaz began his professional career in 1958 as a singer with the Conjuncto Parrada Guajira and soon appeared as a soloist in Cuba and internationally. He became famous in Cuba with the song La Caringa , which has remained popular to the present day. At the Folk Festival in Bulgaria he received the gold medal in the category of best soloist. With his group Luis Diaz y Los 5 Del Son he gave more than thirty concerts in new European countries at the 2006 Son Cuba Festival . On the album Montuneado Díaz, accompanied by his group, sang boleros as well as son music, including his own compositions.
