Lumberjack

Lumberjack (English: 'lumberjack', 'wood chopper'; from lumber 'sawn timber' and the common first name Jack as a synonym for man) describes the following:

  • English a lumberjack , especially from times before there were chainsaws,
    • an item of clothing often worn by these woodworkers, a cloth or leather jacket with knitted waistbands
  • Operation Lumberjack , name of a military operation in March 1945, during which American troops advanced into Cologne, Bonn and Remagen and captured the Remagen Bridge
  • Lumberjack Championship a lumberjack sport developed in Canada around 1900
