Lussi + Halter

Lussi + Halter was a Swiss architecture firm based in Lucerne . It was founded in 1999 by the architects Thomas Lussi (* 1961) and Remo Halter (* 1964). In July 2014 the office was split into Lussi + Partner AG and Halter Casagrande Partner AG.

After graduating from ETH Zurich in 1987 and 1991 respectively , Thomas Lussi and Remo Halter worked in architecture offices in Basel, Lucerne and Barcelona. Both worked independently for several years and as assistants at the Department of Architecture at ETH Zurich. In 1999 they founded their office Lussi + Halter in Lucerne. You exercise jury activities in Switzerland and sit on specialist committees. The company employs around 20 people. Beatrice Maeder (* 1964) has been a partner at Lussi + Halter since 2008.

Lussi + Halter receives most of its orders through participation in national and regional competitions. You realize new buildings, conversions and extensions. Her field of activity mainly includes school buildings, residential, commercial and service buildings, hotels and private houses.

  • Brunel Award 2008 and distinction for selected buildings in the canton of Solothurn 2004–2006 for the SBB staff restaurant Tannwald Olten (2004)
  • Award for good buildings in the canton of Lucerne 1999–2004 for the apartment building Diebold-Schilling-Strasse Lucerne (2002)
  • Award for good buildings in the canton of Lucerne 1999–2004 for the renovation and expansion of the single-family house in Triengen (1999)
