The Lutherschule was a secondary school with an all-day school branch in the Lower Saxony district town of Helmstedt , which was permanently closed on June 22, 2016 due to a lack of pupils (decision 2013).

history

The building for the boys' school on Batteriewall was completed and inaugurated as early as 1883 , but it was only 100 years later in 1933 that it was officially named "Luther School". Due to the declining number of pupils, it was merged with the Conringschule, also a secondary school, in 2004, before it was closed in 2016 (decision 2013).

The school garden of the Luther school is flanked by the former city wall.

Today the former school building is the seat of the youth welfare office of the Helmstedt district and is a listed building .
