LuxTrust SA is a Luxembourg company that provides IT services for government, institutional and private customers. The tasks include online transfers, electronic data security and application creation. Customers include governmental, semi-governmental and private-sector organizations as well as natural persons who have a need for information security .

history

With the entry into force of the “Grand-Ducal Regulation on Electronic Signatures” on August 14, 2000, it was necessary to put protected online security into practice. For this purpose, LuxTrust was founded as a public limited company on November 18, 2005. Two thirds of the capital required for this was provided by the state and one third by the private sector. Companies in the financial sector in particular were interested in financial investments. An invitation to tender with the title "e-Government" commissioned by the state at the same time was intended to identify secure solutions for implementing the technical requirements. The security for banking transactions was mainly established through the use of smart cards and tokens .

On April 21, 2011, the company was officially recognized by ILNAS (Institut Luxembourgeois de la Normalization, de l'Accréditation, de la Sécurité et Qualité des produits et services) as a partner for secure services. In addition to the state, the shareholders include various banks, the Chamber of Commerce and the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

Certifications

Certification for private customers takes place either via the house bank or directly with LuxTrust if no payment transactions from a bank are required for the desired service. For foreign customers who are not also customers of a partner company, authorization is carried out using a notarization .
