Please note the note on the applicable legal version.

The law on judicial proceedings in agricultural matters regulates the procedure for so-called agricultural matters , which are defined in more detail in Section 1 of the law.

The district court, as the agricultural court, decides in the first instance on agricultural matters . This is followed by the Higher Regional Court as the appeal instance and the Federal Court of Justice as the revision instance. Honorary judges are deployed in all instances , including in the senates of the higher regional courts and the Federal Court of Justice.

Agricultural matters are mostly voluntary judicial procedures . The law on the procedure in family matters and in matters of voluntary jurisdiction (FamFG) shall apply mutatis mutandis to them, unless the LwVfG provides otherwise ( § 9 , § 48 LwVfG).
