Lycoming O-160 was the name of a project for a piston aircraft engine from the American manufacturer Lycoming . The engine should be designed as an air-cooled OHV four-stroke boxer engine and have two cylinders with a bore of 130.2 mm and a stroke of 98.4 mm. The cubic capacity would have been 2620 cm³ or 160 inch³, which is what gives the name.

A model of the engine was shown at the 1985 Paris Aviation Salon and at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh . It was intended to be used in experimental aircraft. Initially, approval was planned, but the project was discontinued in 1986.

Based on the modular principle, cylinders with the same dimensions for bore and stroke were also used for the manufacturer's other engines, for example for the four-cylinder Lycoming O-320 and the six-cylinder Lycoming GO- and GSO-480 . All of these engines were manufactured in large numbers.
