Lydia Rode (* 1992) is a German artist and book illustrator living in Berlin.

Life

Lydia Rode has been suffering from chronic fatigue or exhaustion syndrome since she was seventeen . After contacting Walter Moers on her part, the idea of ​​a collaboration and later the novel Princess Insomnia & the nightmarish nightmare arose , which she illustrated with her watercolors . They are her first releases. The author stated in the book's afterword that she was the inspiration for his novel and the main character, Princess Dylia. In October 2018 she was awarded the German Fantastic Prize for her illustrations .

The book Christmas at the Lindworm Festival , published in November 2018, was also illustrated by Lydia Rode.
