Munich Yearbook of Fine Arts

The Munich Year Book of Fine Arts is an art historical journal .

Founded in 1906 by Ludwig von Bürkel , it is published today by the State Museums and Collections in Bavaria and the Central Institute for Art History . The numbers 1 to 13 of the first series appeared in the years 1906 to 1923, between 1924 and 1938/39 the volumes as the new series were again counted from 1 to 13. When the yearbook was re-established in 1950, the numbering of the third series started again at 1.

According to the editors themselves, the Munich Yearbook of Fine Arts publishes "essays on questions of international art history from a period from late antiquity to the present , not least on works from Bavarian collections, [...] and also regularly articles from classical studies, mainly from classical archeology and Egyptology ”. As the official publication organ of the State Museums and Collections in Bavaria, the acquisition reports of these institutions are also published in the yearbook.

The primary language of publication is German.
