From the first third of the 18th century, the mint was housed in the west wing of the Arolsen Palace

The Arolsen Mint was a mint operated by the County of Waldeck in Arolsen in the 18th and first half of the 19th century . The mint closed in 1842. The mint had been housed in the west wing of the royal residential palace at Arolsen since at least 1734 . RF Welle was mint master in Arolsen in 1813 .

In 1837 the new silver groschen based on Prussian coins were minted on a large scale in Arolsen with a view to joining the Zollverein . At that time, the mint was a subsidiary of a blacksmith and was minted for the last time in 1839. Subsequent Waldeck minting orders went to Prussian mints.
