A Münzreplikat is a copy of a circulation coin.

Coin replicas are usually not legal tender (Romania was an exception, where commemorative coin replicas were accepted in payment transactions). Replicas are rarely considered collectibles.

To avoid fraud and counterfeiting, most replicas are now marked with a “copy” label .

In the United States, the manufacture and import of replica coins - with the exception of antique coins - are only permitted if they are labeled " Copy" .
