Friedrich Thörl
Friedrich Heinrich Ludwig Thörl , also called Fritz Thörl , (* 10. April 1857 in Harburg on the Elbe ; † 21st May 1936 in Hamburg ) was Kommerzienrat and 1910 kk consul .
Life
Friedrich Thörl was a son of the senator and commercial councilor Johann Friedrich Thörl . In 1891 Friedrich Thörl and the consul Robert Francke established the Robert Francke palm kernel oil factory, which was incorporated into the Thörl company in 1894. In 1899 he acquired the coconut oil factory Gaiser & Co. In 1900 he founded the starch factory Friedrich Thörl, which produced rice starch , and in 1902 a weaving mill was founded that produced press and filter cloths. All Thörl's companies were taken over in 1906 by Friedrich Thörl Vereinigte Harburger Oelfabriken AG .
The Thörl grave complex with a portrait relief and pillow stones for Friedrich Thörl and his wife Julia is located in the grid square AD 16 (north of the north pond ) at the Ohlsdorf cemetery in Hamburg .
Honors
The city of Harburg made Friedrich Thörl an honorary citizen in 1927 . Thörlstrasse in Hamburg-Harburg is named after Friedrich Thörl's father, the Senator and Councilor of Commerce Johann Friedrich Thörl (* February 10, 1820, † October 5, 1886). Thörls Park in Hamm , where he owned a representative villa from 1884 to 1928, is reminiscent of Thörl himself .
