US soldier with M40 gas mask

The M40 gas mask is used by the United States Army . It was introduced around 1990 and replaced the previously used M17 gas mask . Another model was introduced in the United States Navy and the United States Air Force at the same time. The MCU-2 / P gas mask had been chosen there. A common successor model is the M50 gas mask .
