MIL-L-63460 is a standard developed for the armed forces of the United States , which provides information on the properties and capabilities of gun oils . Conditions and test methods for the cleaning effect, lubricating effect and preservability of weapons and weapon parts are described here. These specifications were essentially adopted by the other national armed forces of NATO .
