MUS-TW

Mus-TW (Russian: Муз-ТВ, also in English transcription MUZ-TV) is a television station in Russia . Mus-TW has been broadcasting a specialty music program since 1996, comparable to the German stations MTV and VIVA , but with a larger proportion of Russian and Russian-language productions. According to Mus-TW, the share of Russian productions is 70%. Only since 2005 have other programs been offered in addition to music clips. MUS-TW reaches 14.8 percent of the total population per week in cities with over 100,000 inhabitants.

The Mus-TW Awards have been held every year at the beginning of June since 2003. National artists are honored in up to 13 categories. A group of music producers and music journalists makes a pre-selection of nominees for each category, from which a winner is then determined through an audience vote via SMS and via the Internet. The Mus-TW Awards have been criticized for a long time due to the alleged preference given to certain artists. The band Sweri, for example, has been nominated for the best rock band award six times in a row. The award ceremony will be accompanied by performances by various national and international musicians and will be broadcast live on Mus-TW.

Mus-TW has been owned by the Russian media holding ARS (Russian: АРС) since 2002. The ARS works primarily as a producer for the state broadcasters of the first channel and the tele channel Rossija .
