The Maastricht Wildcats are a Dutch American football team from Maastricht .
history
The Wildcats were founded in 1998 under the name Limburg Wildcats . After reaching the Tulip Bowl in 2001, which they lost 6: 7 to the Hilversum Hurricanes , the team broke up and was re-established in 2002 under the name Maastricht Wildcats. After starting over in the third division, the Wildcats made it up in 2004 and 2005 and have been back in the highest Dutch league since 2006. In 2007 the Wildcats celebrated their greatest success to date by winning the Tulip Bowl. In the final, the subscription champions Amsterdam Crusaders could be defeated with 25:16. Also in 2008 the Wildcats met the Crusaders in the final, but lost 8:20.
The Wildcats youth team won the championship in 2002.
