The Amsterdam Crusaders are a Dutch American football team from Amsterdam . The Crusaders are currently playing in the top national league.

history

With 17 national championships, the Crusaders are by far the most successful Dutch American football team. At the European level, too, they were among the best teams, especially in the early 1990s. Between 1988 and 1993 the Crusaders were five times in the Eurobowl and were able to win it twice (1991 against the Berlin Adler 21:20 and 1992 against Giaguari Torino 42:24).

In 1994 and 1995, the team took part in the Football League of Europe (FLE) , but without being able to build on previous successes.

In 1996 they returned to the Dutch league and were able to get back on the road to success at national level. At the international level, however, they were no longer able to build on their great successes. After the preliminary round in the European Football League in 1996, they took part in the EFAF Cup between 2006 and 2011 , but only survived the preliminary round in 2009 . For the 2015 season, the Crusaders will again take part in the European Football League.

More teams

In addition to the men's team, the youth crusaders have three tackle football and two flag football teams in play.
