Mackprang was a company founded in 1878 that was active in the agricultural commodity trade.

history

In November 1878, the grain trading company C. Mackprang jr. founded. The focus was on maritime trade in the German-Danish Baltic Sea region. American grain was also imported. In 1921 the company headquarters was relocated to Hamburg. At that time, the import of Russian barley was an important pillar. In 1935 a concentrate plant was acquired. Between 1984 and 2000, various logistics service providers were acquired: Süderelbe Logistik GmbH, CM Eurologistik GmbH and UNISPED Logistik GmbH . These were sold in 2012.

Mackprang was active in the automotive components sector through a holding company. In 1963, the first shares in Schlemmer GmbH in Munich were acquired; In 1979 it was 100% taken over. In 2012 Hannover Finanz became the majority shareholder in the holding. In 2016 the Schlemmer Group was taken over by the investor 3i Group P.

Mackprang filed for bankruptcy in March 2018. The company was liquidated and deleted from the commercial register on November 7, 2018.
