Hanover Finance
Hannover Finanz is a German group of equity investment companies. The core and management company of the group is Hannover Finanz GmbH , founded in 1979 as a subsidiary of the liability association of German industry (HDI) and separated from it by management buy-out in 1993, based in the Lower Saxony capital of Hanover and Vienna.
Ownership
The shareholders of Hannover Finanz are the management (27.8%), Hannover Rück SE (27.8%), Basler Lebensversicherungs-AG (11.1%, see Basler Versicherungen ), Nürnberger Lebensversicherung AG (11.1%), MMWarburg & CO (11.1%) and Gehrke Treuhand GmbH (11.1%).

Key figures
In 2018 Hannover Finanz was involved in 39 companies in Germany and Austria with around 35,000 employees. The capital participation totaled 352 million euros; 65 million could be distributed to the investors.
Holdings
Hannover Finanz has made more than 200 investments since it was founded, including Rossmann , Fielmann , Eschenbach Optik , Aixtron , MPA Pharma and Runners Point . A total of over 1 billion euros in equity was made available through several unlimited long-term funds. Most capital providers are insurance companies and banks. The focus is on majority stakes in medium-sized and family-run companies in the course of management buy-outs and -ins as well as spin-offs. Transactions of up to 150 million euros are financed.
