Basler Insurance Switzerland
The Baloise Insurance Switzerland is the largest business unit of the Baloise Group . Basler Versicherungen and Baloise Bank SoBa act together as a focused financial service provider, a combination of insurance and banking.
Basler focuses on comprehensive solutions for insurance and provision. Baloise Bank SoBa is increasing its range of pensions with banking products that are offered by the insurance company's sales force and the bank itself. With baloisedirect.ch, Basler launched its own online insurance in mid-2007, with which car, motorcycle, household contents, legal expenses and travel insurance can be taken out. baloisedirect.ch was discontinued in May 2018. Today these products are sold via baloise.ch.
The company was founded on May 2, 1863 after the so-called fire of Glarus in the canton capital Glarus as a Basel insurance company against fire damage and the like. a. Founded by the industrialist Daniel August Alioth (1816–1889) and father of Ludwig Rudolf Alioth . In 1864, Basler Feuer expanded its business to include transportation and living. In the following years, other insurance lines were added.
The company has around 3300 employees.
Basler Insurance Germany
The German subsidiaries of the Swiss Baloise Group Basler Sachversicherungs-AG, Basler Lebensversicherungs-AG and Basler Financial Services GmbH operate on the German market under the umbrella brand Basler Versicherungen .
Up until January 31, 2007, the company operated under the name Basler Securitas Insurance.
Basler Versicherungen emerged from a merger between Securitas Bremer Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG and Basler Versicherung Deutschland and is based in Bad Homburg vor der Höhe . Its parent company, the Baloise Group, bought Securitas in 2003.
Since December 21, 2012, Deutscher Ring Lebensversicherungs-AG and Deutscher Ring Sachversicherungs-AG have also been operating under the name Basler Versicherungen. The two Deutscher Ring companies have been part of the Swiss Baloise Group since 1986 and have been integrated into Baloise Insurance since 2009 through a complex process.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Basler Insurance has been Jürg Schiltknecht since May 1, 2015.
Basler sells insurance and pension products for individuals and companies. The company employs around 1,500 people (as of May 2020).
