Madeleine d'Auvermont

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Madeleine d'Auvermont (* in France ; † ibid) was a French noble lady. She became known when she gave birth to a child in 1637, despite the fact that her husband had been abroad for four years.

When she was charged with adultery , she explained the conception of thinking very strongly about her absent husband and dreaming about him at night. Thus the child was conceived by the power of her thoughts and her imagination. Various doctors and theologians were consulted. The court, consisting of clergy and nobles, then decided that it must actually be a legitimate son and heir of Hieronyme Auguste de Monléon .
