Mago (writer)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mago was a Punic writer of the second century BC. Chr.

Mago, of whom little else is known, wrote a work in 28 books on agriculture. The work was translated into Latin by resolution of the Roman Senate under the direction of Decimus Iunius Silanus . Later, Cassius Dionysius also wrote a Greek translation. The original and both translations are lost today; only a few quotations have survived.
