Maidenhead is a constituency in the county of Berkshire for the British House of Commons . The constituency was created in its current form in 1997 and covers much of Maidenhead , Bray, Wargrave, Sonning and Twyford. He sends a representative to parliament.

history

The constituency emerged from parts of the constituencies of Windsor and Maidenhead and Wokingham and has been represented in Parliament since its creation in 1997 by Theresa May , who was Prime Minister of the United Kingdom between 2016 and 2019 . Even after her resignation as Prime Minister, she successfully applied for re-election in Maidenhead in the 2019 general election.

In April 2013 the constituency had an unemployment rate of only 1.8%. This value was significantly lower than the national average of 3.8%.
