history

Late 19th and early 20th century paraded in the US, the first female marching bands with a female drum major , pretending his stick to beat. After the type of rifle presentation exercises, the Bâton began to be turned and tricks developed. The female drum majors were referred to as drum major girls , later drum majorettes or simply majorettes. In the 1940s, girl groups at parades, in which several participants juggled and tossed a stick, became more common in the United States, and this custom came to Europe after World War II .
