Thematically, the magazine covers the full range of macroeconomic issues, from employment and money to business cycles and central banks. “The Makronom sees itself also as an open discussion platform”, on which “economists, politicians, journalists and interested laypeople” should come into conversation with one another through contributions.

The texts published in the magazine are occasionally short versions of essays or articles that have already been published elsewhere. Mathematical formulas are usually not used.

Authors

The authors include numerous well-known researchers, such as Bernd Fitzenberger (Professor of Econometrics at Humboldt University in Berlin), Larry H. Summers (Professor of Economics at Harvard University) and the elite researcher Michael Hartmann .

financing

The magazine offers a paid subscription in three price levels and at the end of 2017 a payment barrier was introduced .
