Mallorca Newspaper

The Mallorca Zeitung (abbreviation MZ ) is a German-language weekly newspaper on the Balearic island of Mallorca . It has existed since May 2000 and is published by Editorial Prensa Ibérica, which also publishes the Spanish-language local newspaper Diario de Mallorca. The editorial office is based in the Nou Llevant district in the Balearic capital, Palma . The edition is 20,000 copies.

The Mallorca newspaper appears every Thursday. It provides information about current island events in politics, sport, culture and society as well as lifestyle and service issues. The newspaper also includes the program guide rtv . Since a relaunch in August 2018, the newspaper has appeared in a new design and format. The readers include German-speaking residents on Mallorca, vacationers and subscribers in Germany, among others. The Mallorca Zeitung is often quoted by the media in German-speaking countries and therefore also has a function as a multiplier for Mallorca topics. The editor-in-chief is Ciro Krauthausen, the deputy editors-in-chief are Frank Feldmeier and Lars Kreye. The editorial team has eight other permanent editors.

In the online edition of the same name, the Mallorca Zeitung reports on current events on the island. Daily headlines are also sent in a Whatsapp newsletter.

The sister newspaper of Mallorca Zeitung on the Spanish mainland, Costa Blanca Rundschau , which was published by the same publisher , was discontinued in January 2007.
