The Maneuver in the Kiev Military District 1935 is a bilateral exercise of the Red Army that took place in September 1935 on the territory of the Kiev Military District with the aim of reviewing and specifying a number of theoretical principles of Soviet combat management.

They practiced breaking through a fortified defensive strip with a rifle corps, developing a breakthrough with a cavalry corps and the maneuvering of a mechanized corps together with a cavalry division to encircle and rub off a broken group of the enemy.

For the first time in military practice, airborne troops in the strength of one paratrooper regiment (1,188 men) were deployed and a ground landing force in the strength of two rifle regiments with some of the heavy weapons and equipment landed.

The maneuver played an important role in the development of Soviet war tactics as it confirmed the key tenets of the Soviet deep operation theory .
