Manilaid (also: Manija , German: Manja ) is an Estonian island in the Baltic Sea . It is located in the Riga Bay between the Tõstamaa peninsula and the Estonian island of Kihnu .
Manilaid is about a kilometer from the mainland. The size of the island is 1.87 km². Nearby are the islands of Annilaid (also Anõlaid ) with a size of 0.03 km² and Munalaid . There is a regular ferry service to the islands from the port of Lemsi on Kihnu. The islands are administratively part of the Pärnu Municipality in Pärnu County .
Manilaid was first mentioned in 1560 as Holm Maune . The island was uninhabited until 1933, before Estonians from Kihnu settled on the island. Today 49 people live there permanently (as of 2006). In 2005 the entire locality received wireless LAN .
The island's eight-meter-high lighthouse is located on the Papina peninsula.
