Manuel Mendes, 1944

Manuel Mendes (born January 18, 1906 in Lisbon , † May 7, 1969 ibid) was a Portuguese writer.

Life

Mendes studied literary history in Lisbon . In 1931 he had to leave the university because he had participated in a student strike. He then worked for Seara Nova magazine and in 1945 was one of the founders of the Movimento de Unidade Democrática political movement .

As a writer, he wrote works that dealt with art and literary topics as well as stories.
