Maria Dueñas

María Dueñas Vinuesa (* 1964 in Puertollano ) is a Spanish writer .

She became known with her 2009 debut, El tiempo entre costuras (German: The Echo of Dreams 2012). The novel has received numerous awards and is one of the best-selling books in Spain in recent years. It has been translated into a total of 35 languages. In addition, the novel was filmed as a television series. Her last novel, La templanza, is Spain's best-selling novel in 2015. This novel is also currently being used (as of 12/2016) as a television series. In Germany to La templanza 2017 under the title If I do not go now in Insel Verlag appear.

Life

Dueñas was born in 1964 in Puertollano in the province of Ciudad Real , the oldest of eight children . After completing her studies, she embarked on a career in science and has held the professorship for English studies at the University of Murcia since 2003 , from which she is currently exempt from writing. María Dueñas lives in Cartagena (Spain) with her husband and two children .
