The Marburg Triassic describes a constellation of symptoms that can be present in multiple sclerosis (encephalomyelitis disseminata). There is a temporal paling of the optic nerve papillae , a para- spasticity and an absence of the abdominal skin reflexes .

The Marburg triad is more meaningful than the Charcot triad I , which consists of a combined occurrence of nystagmus , intention tremor and chanting language ( dysarthria ).
