biography

Montecchi was born to a Swiss woman and an Italian guest worker. The father left the family early and returned to Italy. Montecchi grew up with his maternal grandparents and completed an apprenticeship as an electrician after finishing school. He never practiced this profession, however, but earned his living doing odd jobs and studying literature and music in depth. He frequented artistic circles and was often on stage as an extra . Spurred on by theater colleagues, he took acting lessons, won an audition at the Solothurn City Theater and got his first contract as an actor.

Montecchi took on various guest roles at the Theater Basel and the Schauspielhaus Bonn, among others . He founded in the early 1990s with regulators of Euw own theater compagnie and sat with the Georg Büchner's story " Lenz " and Samuel Beckett's "A piece of monologue" into a stage play by. The dramaturgy was done by Michael Kohlenbach.

Furthermore, Montecchi has made guest appearances at various theaters in Germany and abroad. At the Jazz School in Basel he expanded his knowledge of music theory, took singing and drum lessons and composed for theater and art projects. Dealing with music programs aroused his interest in creative work on the computer, especially with regard to setting and editing video films. In his own projects, too, he has now shifted the focus to AV media . Multimedia art projects were created that replaced theater productions. As a result, he began to be interested in the film as an actor.

Montecchi is married to the artist Regula von Euw and lives in Basel and Baiso (Italy) , where part of his Italian family is based.
