Marchas Populares

The Marchas Populares are a traditional pageant in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon . They take place annually on June 12th and are the highlight of the festivities in honor of the city's patron saint, Santo António .

The parade consists of dance groups from Lisbon's neighborhoods competing against each other. The first move took place in 1932.
