Marcus Bonfanti (* 1983 in London ) is a British blues rock guitarist, singer and songwriter.

biography

The son of an English mother and an Italian father was born in London. As a schoolboy he played the trumpet in school bands; It was only at the age of 15 that he began to play acoustic guitar. His role model on the electric guitar was Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin . He attended LIPA (Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts), but broke off the three-year course to work as a musician first in Liverpool and later in London.

His debut album Hard Times was released in 2008, followed by What Good Am I To You in 2010 ; Both albums received very positive reviews and earned him awards as "Accustic Act" at the British Blues Awards in 2012 and 2013 . In 2012 his song The Bittersweet was also awarded. The 2013 album Shake The Walls was named one of the top 5 blues albums of the year by Classic Rock Magazine .

In 2014, Marcus Bonfanti became a member of the band Ten Years After as guitarist and singer. In addition, Bonfanti is still active solo and plays every month with The Ronnie Scott's Blues Explosion in Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club .

In the course of his career, Marcus Bonfanti has appeared with numerous well-known musicians, be it as opening act, in the same program or as accompanist, including Robert Cray , Chuck Berry , Jack Bruce , Beth Hart , John Mayall , Ginger Baker and Eric Burdon , to name just a few to call.
