Marcus Caecilius Donatianus
Marcus Caecilius Donatianus was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 2nd and 3rd centuries AD .
Donatianus had an inscription built, which was found at Fort Magnis and which is dated to 197/217. According to the inscription, he was a tribune serving in the post of prefect . The name of the unit he commanded is not given in the inscription. It is controversial whether he was in command of the Cohors I Hamiorum , which was stationed in the province of Britannia at the time.

Remarks
- ↑ John Spaul assigns Donatianus to both the Cohors I Hamiorum and the Cohors II Delmatarum . Anthony R. Birley assigns it to the Cohors I Hamiorum . David Benjamin Cuff sees convincing reasons for assigning him to the Cohors I Hamiorum . The RIB, however, sees no reason to assign Donatianus to the Cohors I Hamiorum .
