Digital health application

As Digital Health Applications (abbreviated DiGA ) are medical devices designated health-related purpose, whose main function is essential to digital technologies based (eg. As "health apps"). They are intended to support the promotion of health and the detection, monitoring and treatment of diseases.

Accordingly, the areas of application and health-related goals of DiGA are diverse. Examples are:

In Germany, tested health apps can be prescribed as part of statutory health insurance since the Digital Supply Act came into force on December 19, 2019.
