Marcus Vestinus quadratus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Marcus Vestinus Quadratus was a member of the Roman knighthood ( Eques ) living in the 1st century AD .

A military diploma proves that Quadratus 97 was in command of a Cohors I Alpinorum , which at that time was stationed in the province of Delmatia . There were several units with this name (see Cohors I Alpinorum ); possibly one of the two units stationed in the province of Pannonia was temporarily transferred to Delmatia in order to then return to the old province.

Remarks

  1. Only QUAD of his cognomen has been preserved in the diploma , which has been supplemented to Quadratus .
