The former parish church of the Birth of Mary is the old Catholic village church of Niedernhausen (Taunus). It was built between 1881 and 1885 in the neo-Gothic style and from 1921 was the seat of its own parish.
After the construction of a new parish church, it stood empty from 1960. In 1980 the association Alte Kirche Niedernhausen e. V. founded with the aim of preserving the church building and using it for cultural purposes. Cultural events have been held in the church since May 1985.
