Maria Corrigan

Maria Corrigan is an Irish Fianna Fáil politician .

Corrigan studied at University College Dublin , where she received her Bachelor and Master degrees .

In 1999 she was elected to the Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and was a member of this until 2007 when she was nominated Senator in the 23rd Seanad Éireann by Taoiseach Bertie Ahern . Prior to her nomination, Corrigan was Principal Psychologist for the St John of God Intellectual Disability Service .

In February 2011 she ran unsuccessfully in the elections for the 31st Dáil Éireann in the Dublin South constituency . In the 2002 and 2007 elections she had unsuccessfully sought a seat in the Dáil.
