Maria Zaruc

Maria Zaruc , also Mária Zárug , (born March 2, 1977 in Miercurea Ciuc ) is a former Romanian ski racer .

Zaruc started in 1993 at the Junior World Championships in Italy, where she was 59th in giant slalom and 76th in Super G. In 1994, at the age of 16, she took part in the Winter Olympics in Lillehammer . There she reached the 40th place in the downhill. In the combination she also started, but did not reach the goal.

In 1995 Zaruc was sixth in the giant slalom at the FIS race in Andermatt (Switzerland). At the Junior World Cup in Switzerland in 1996, she started in all disciplines. Her best place was 40th place in the slalom. Shortly afterwards, she was sixth in the giant slalom at the FIS race in La Clusaz (France).
