Marie Dewal , also Maria Dewal (born shortly before 1880 in Vienna - died after 1913) was an Austrian theater actress .

Life

Marie Dewal received her artistic training at the Otto drama school. She began her acting career in St. Pölten in 1897 and came to Graz in 1899 (inaugural role "Liane" in " Mamsell Tourbillon ") and from autumn 1902 was to be engaged at the German Theater in Berlin. However, she did not take on this engagement, but went to the German Volkstheater in Vienna as the successor to Rosa Albach-Retty . There Dewal made his debut on December 23, 1902 with Estelle in the play "The Two Schools".

She played u. a. the " Käthchen von Heilbronn ", the "Franziska" in " Minna von Barnhelm " and "Vittorino" in " Renaissance ". She also plays at the Residenztheater Berlin . Shortly before the outbreak of World War I, she finally accepted a call to Prague, where she could be seen on the German-speaking stages there.

In early 1919 newspapers reported that she had died "some time ago" at the age of 39.
