Marie Nejedlo , called Ria Nejedlo , b. Seidel , (born January 26, 1908 in Bremerhaven , † 2000 in Bremerhaven) was a politician from Bremerhaven ( SPD ) and a member of the Bremen citizenship .

Family, education and work

Nejedlo was the daughter of local politician and trade unionist Arthur Seidel (1883–1964). The father was the managing director of the German Federation of Trade Unions. He worked in the union building and the family lived there, so they were closely associated with the union movement. She graduated from business school and did a commercial apprenticeship. She then worked in the private sector and from 1926 to 1933 at the Allgemeine Ortskrankenkasse in Bremerhaven. In 1933 she married a ship steward; both had a daughter. The father was persecuted by the National Socialists from 1933 . After the divorce, she married the carpenter Helmut Nejedlo in 1944. Her musical appearances as a singer of musical and operetta melodies - often together with parliamentary group colleague Heinrich Grimm (SPD) - at events, etc. a. at the social welfare office, at senior meetings and in the party, they made known. For years she also led a music group for a senior group that met in the anchorage in the Columbus Center .

She was a member of the SPD in Bremerhaven since 1926 and was active in the Socialist Workers' Youth . After the Second World War , she and her father were immediately active again in politics. For a long time she was a board member in the SPD local association Bremerhaven-Mitte and in the SPD sub-district Bremerhaven. Later she was the senior representative in the SPD.

Her father was a member of the town hall from 1947 to 1951. From 1951 to 1975 she was a member of the Bremen citizenship for 24 years and was active in various deputations and committees of the citizenship. The main focus of her parliamentary activities were the areas of welfare and health.
